We are getting tons of request for weddings in Hawaii right now and since I’m FREEZING cold and am dying for a trip back to the islands (where I grew up!), I thought I would post Elisa & Kevin’s Wedding Movie. It makes me feel a bit warmer already!

Loni and Matt are the third couple in a great group of friends whose weddings we’ve done in the past year. You might remember Thao & Josh from 2009 (and they are expecting soon!!! Congrats you guys!!) and of course Jeanine & Josh who just got married in Maui a few months ago. It was so fun to see everyone again at Loni & Matt’s wedding last night AND ring in the New Year with them. Seriously, we have the best jobs ever!

I’ll admit that I was pretty tired after having only three hours of sleep the night before and then playing racquetball in the morning before heading off to the Alexis Hotel to film Loni getting ready. But as soon as I walked in to the suite and saw Loni all glammed up, I was wide awake and the creative juices began to flow! I had fun joking around with the girls while Chris was busy filming the guys in the bar. After some photos with Alex Studio, everyone headed over to Shilshole Bay Beach Club for the ceremony that was officiated by Reverend Ray Van Winkle. Loni & Matt’s ADORABLE son, Isiah was the ring bearer and there were lots of happy tears shed by everyone! It was a sweet ceremony! This was our first time working with wedding coordinator Laura Gram and she did a fantabulous job!

This Same Day Edit was shown at 11:30 to HUGE cheers, laughter and applause, then 2011 was brought in with some serious partying and dancing!! I can’t wait to get my hands on all the crazy dancing footage….the guys especially crack me up! And I’ll make sure to update this video when that is ready to watch, so keep checking back! Happy New Year and congratulations Loni & Matt!! What a way to kick off 2011!!

In honor of John’s birthday yesterday (well, at least that’s what Facebook tells me!) I decided to FINALLY get this posted on the blog!

We were referred to Rebecca and John by their fabulous wedding planner Wendy Wojcik from Weddings with Wendy, so we knew it was going to be an amazing wedding. Imagine the Golf Club at Newcastle, one of the best wedding photographers in the world (Jim Garner), one of the best florist/designers in Seattle (Rented Elegance), an awesome DJ (Darrell Christel) and then of course Edit 1 Media creating their wedding video and a Same Day Edit…it was almost like a family reunion of our close wedding professional friends working together to create the perfect day for a super sweet couple.

On the morning of the wedding, both Rebecca and John were nervous, which was really cute. Rebecca’s dress was GORGEOUS!!! It was a Signature G that she purchased at Seattle’s very own La Belle Elaine’s and her veil is equally stunning. As soon as they saw each other for the first time that day, all the nerves disappeared and then we had tons of fun taking pictures with the amazing Jim Garner.

Over the months before the wedding John had a lot of communication with us and one thing he wanted to do was a surprise photo montage that would show just before their Same Day Edit. Apparently it’s REALLY hard to surprise Rebecca with anything so he wasn’t sure if he could pull it off…finding photos without her knowing turned out to be a real challenge but he was able to do it with her mom’s help and boy, was she ever surprised!! But the icing on the cake was the Same Day Edit…it’s super sweet and I think it shows perfectly just how in love Rebecca and John are with each other! Congrats you two love birds and thank you for asking us to capture the day for you!

No, we haven’t fallen off the face of the earth….just been busy traveling, shooting weddings and doing TONS of editing!!! This time of year other wedding professionals will say “Are you happy to be going in to the slow season?” but they don’t realize we don’t have a slow season! This is when we put our noses to the grindstone and edit like crazy, try to keep all our hard drives cleaned up and backed up, book tons of weddings for the next year, and our corporate work ramps up. So I apologize for not posting lately and I promise I’ll post more very soon….I have about a million videos to share with you and have couples asking me all the time to post their videos on our blog! LOL!!

I have this one ready to go on my laptop since we just filmed it a week and a half ago, so I thought I would post it first.

Emily and Jeff found us online and fell in love with our work so they brought us from Seattle to Houston for their wedding and to do a Same Day Edit. The first time I spoke with Emily on the phone I think we chatted for almost two hours! When I finally got to meet her in person on the morning of their wedding day, it was like two old friends getting back together again! We talked for an hour and then all of the sudden the hair stylist showed up and she was like “Eeek! I have to take a shower!” it was pretty funny!

The ceremony and reception both took place at the swanky Hotel ZaZa, which is also where we stayed for the weekend….definitely a hotel that I would recommend! If you can afford the Black Label Suite or any of the other “Magnificent Seven” suites, do it! Emily got ready in the breathtaking Black Label Suite which has an amazing view and even a hot tub on the large balcony.

The day went by so quickly but the wedding was gorgeous, everyone had tons of fun and our colleague Rolando was SUPER helpful as another shooter (thanks again, Rolando!!). The Same Day Edit was a smash hit at the reception and later Emily told me it was even better than she had anticipated. We got a chance to say goodbye the next morning before having breakfast with another wedding filmmaker friend in Houston and then headed back to Seattle. It was a short but sweet trip and I’m so happy we were able to provide an awesome video for Emily & Jeff!

One day the lovely Ellen Peterson from Serenity Weddings called and said one of the bridesmaids from Thao & Josh’s wedding was getting married and all she cared about was having Ellen as her coordinator, that the wedding was in Hawaii, and that Edit1Media was there to capture the day!! We LOVED working with Thao & Josh and their friends were just so much fun so of course we were thrilled to do Jeanine & Josh’s wedding!

Many of you know that I grew up in Hawaii (on the island of Oahu) and that we are fortunate enough to shoot about 3-4 wedding videos in Hawaii per year. I think a lot of our destination wedding clients hire us because we TRULY understand the islands and try to put that flavor in each video while also customizing the overall video to their tastes. I really believe that Hawaii is the most beautiful place in the world and I’m always so inspired when we are there…I think this video really reflects that. Jeanine & Josh will be showing this video to all their family and friends back here in Seattle tomorrow night who weren’t able to make it to Maui last week.

Since Kayla and Joel live about 2-1/2 hours away in Bellingham, we didn’t have a chance to meet them until their wedding day. That actually happens quite often since we do destination wedding videos and/or have clients who are just simply too busy to meet in person…but they see our work online, talk on the phone with us, and decide we are a perfect fit. It’s always a fun adventure for us to go somewhere we haven’t filmed before and meet people we don’t know and still be able to capture their day perfectly!

I loved this wedding and this Same Day Edit….this is one of those couples who are perfect for each other. You can see Joel’s adoration for Kayla every time he looks at her. What was so sweet and unique is that he wrote a book just for her (you’ll see a quick shot of it in their video)…it was a story about the fisherman who found just the right fish. It’s written like a children’s book and was just adorable! When Joel had proposed to Kayla he had written the first book, this was the second book, and then there was a third story told during the ceremony. Their longer wedding video will definitely have this part of their story as a major character and I can hardly wait to share that one with you later on! But for now, here is their gorgeous Same Day Edit that was shown at their reception! Enjoy!

How do you have a destination wedding in the Seattle area without going too far? You go to the San Juan Islands, like Billie Sue & Bobby did! This adorable couple was referred to us by the amazingly talented Jesse and Travis from True Colors Events. They are VERY busy Microsoft people so we didn’t have a chance to meet with them before the wedding. And to make matters more complicated, we already had another wedding booked that day. But luckily we have a pool of incredible talent so we flew up Terry & Joe from New Orleans to shoot while Chris did the Same Day Edit.

The week of Billie Sue & Bobby’s wedding was gorgeous with clear blue skies and temperatures in the low 80′s. Perfect summer weather. So you can only imagine the disappointment when there was rain on Saturday morning since this was an outdoor wedding. But Jesse and Travis along with the staff from Roche Harbor turned what could have been a disaster into a beautiful, intimate tented outdoor wedding. As you’ll see from their Same Day Edit, the rain actually became a character in the story of their wedding day.

I love how the darker light gives the video a bit more of a vintage feel and how the colors in the garden and flowers from Susie Wampler just pop. I can’t wait to see what the talented Joey Hong got for photographs! Of course later in the evening Sean Wheatley from Seattle Parties made sure the celebration continued and there are some lovely speeches from friends and family that I can’t wait to incorporate into their final edit.

When we walked in to the Woodmark Hotel yesterday, we were immediately greeted with a HUGE hug by Sayeh’s mom followed by a text message from Sayeh telling me what room she was in and that she was excited to see us. The anticipation in the air was electric and these women truly enjoyed every second of the day…it was like every single moment was relished and was the BEST moment in their life. I loved it!

Sayeh and Tony were such a handsome couple from two completely different cultures. The Persian ceremony was gorgeous, colorful and joyous and the “American” ceremony was short but super sweet. And then everyone partied all night long!! The electronica Persian music that DJ Nima played was seriously pumping the entire Woodmark Hotel and I didn’t realize that apparently I have an “inner Persian” because I had to seriously resist the urge to get out on the dance floor with everyone!

When we showed the Same Day Edit at the reception, the look on their faces was AWESOME!! They were both completely drawn in to it! When it was over, Sayeh pulled me in to the middle of the dance floor and shouted “Edit 1 Media is the best!!” while holding my arm up in the air like a prize fighter!! LOL!! It’s so gratifying to see our client’s fall in love with what we put together for them right away and I know their guests will be talking about that video for a LONG time!

MEGA thank you’s to Brooke Arambula at Event Envy for an amazing job last night (even at 8 months pregnant…wow!) and for referring Sayeh & Tony to us. It was a pleasure working with you and I hope we get to do it again!
