Lisa & David

January 27th, 2007 by edit1media

January 27, 2007

Lisa & David had a Jewish Ceremony at the Glendale Country Club in Bellevue with a really beautiful winter theme. They were both very, very nervous and Lisa kept crying whenever someone would tell her how beautiful she looked. So everyone started joking that she looked horrible and then she would crack up for a few seconds so the photographer, Stephanie Cristalli could get some good shots. They have a great sense of humor and I really enjoyed getting to meet them and work with them.

We went to Lisa & David’s house just a few days before their wedding to get a little bit of voice over for their Same Day Edit and it really added extra emotion to their video. The guests were eating dinner and talking when the video started playing and within the first 5 seconds of the video the room became suddenly dead quiet. Then slowly people started whispering, “How did they do that? It’s so beautiful!” Those comments make the stress of the Same Day Edit SOOOOO worth it! But the crowning moment was when Lisa and David said it was the most beautiful thing they had ever seen. Here is thier video.

Shari & Jonathan

January 20th, 2007 by edit1media

Here is a highlight we did for Shari & Jonathan. We still haven’t finished their full video yet, but we created this highlight for them because they were going to South Africa to visit family. Since her grandmother wasn’t able to make it to the wedding, we were more than happy to put this together for them. Needless to say, grandma (and the rest of the family there) loved it and watched it many times!

Shari & Jonathan are the sweetest couple! They brought us wine and pumpkin bread when they came over to our house and they both helped us an ENTIRE DAY at the Seattle Wedding Show! Just really, really neat people and their wedding was spectacular! Enjoy!

Juliette & Mark – St. James Cathedral & Fairmont Olympic Hotel

January 18th, 2007 by edit1media

January 18, 2007

On September 23, 2006 we shot a gorgeous wedding at St. James Cathedral with the reception in the Spanish Ballroom at the Fairmont Olympic Hotel. This couple is from Manhattan in New York City so they hired Wendy who put together a sophisticated and elegant affair. We worked with GH Kim Photography, a husband and wife team who are very quiet but sweet and easy to get along with. I also love their work on their website and they have generously shared photos of this wedding for their DVD covers!

OK, enough talk, here is their video! Just click to start playing.

Cool Corporate Gigs!

January 18th, 2007 by edit1media

January 18, 2007

In addition to working on all of our weddings for our super patient couples, we have two really cool corporate projects we are working on right now. The first is for LCT Magazine’s annual trade show in Las Vegas. We are putting together a photo montage that will loop on a HUGE screen during their awards banquet cocktail hour. We are mixing photos of the nominees along with some fun photos from various events they’ve held over the last year. While this will be playig there will be Cirque du Soleil performers doing acrobats from the ceiling. I wish we could be there to see it, and while we were invited, we have another project….

The Aegis Assisted Living’s annual Executive Director meeting. This is an awe-inspiring company and we will be creating a Concept Video, two Same Day Edits and filming a ton of speakers over several days. This meeting is unbelievably inspirational for the ED’s who learn new concepts to take back to their communities and we are really proud to be a part of it. Two super fun things that will take place are the Aegis Prom in which we are creating a Photo Montage of employee’s high school photos, and two days of an Amazing Race through Seattle. We are supplying 7 cameras for each team to use and then we’ll put together a presentation of the teams to be shown the following day. That should be an interesting, fun (and a bit stressful) video to create!

Convention Same Day Edit

January 18th, 2007 by edit1media

January 11, 2007

What a wild party last night at the Twisted Martini in the Jacksonville Landing. We had a “2nd line” from the hotel to the club that included boas and beads! Here is the Same Day Edit we created. Oh yeah, there’s also some seminars in there too. But basically I wanted to create something that gave the overall feeling of the day…a big, fun, crazy blur!!

P.S. The ‘playing cards’ are actually cards of all the Top 25 videographers! LOL!!

What a Weekend!!!

January 18th, 2007 by edit1media

January 8, 2007

I’ll try to make this brief because this weekend was just insane and there is way too much to write!
The Seattle Wedding Show was Saturday and Sunday. We had two booths and eight non-paid clients who volunteered their time to help us. What amazing clients we have!!! I believe the final count was over 8,000 people attended and we handed out over 2,000 demo DVDs. One of our booths was dedicated to showing the difference between High Definition and Standard Definition and with a very impressive demo. It was great to see vendors we haven’t seen in awhile too! Overall it was a successful and fun show! I can hardly wait until next year! Thank you to Sharon of Third Day Creations for making our booth so beautiful with the flowers and candles!
After the show, we had to break down the booths and get to the airport to take off to Jacksonville, Florida for the 4Ever Group’s Video ‘07 Conference. After flying all night we got in this morning and took a nice long nap! Then we headed out to the Awards Banquet where we had a seat waiting for us next to our buddies from Pixel Pops in Dallas, Texas. I handed out quite a few of the awards, including quite a few from a company I had never heard of before! Below is a photo of Chris and I with our new Top 25 award. Then the party started!! It’s nice to be able to let loose once a year and have Cosmopolitans to my heart’s content and gab with old friends and make some new ones! Videographers rock!!
This week I will be on two panels…one on Same Day Edits and one on Judging. I’m also going to be doing a Same Day Edit of the conference on Wednesday. Then we head out on Thursday so we can do Jill & Bart’s wedding on Friday. Crazy week, but that’s our life and we love it!

Dan & Colette – Same Day Edit

January 18th, 2007 by edit1media

December 17, 2006

What a cute couple Dan and Colette are!! Cute and super sweet too!

This was another one of Wendy’s beautiful weddings and the Rainier Club, where the reception was held, was in full out Christmas decor. It was so festive and glittery! They hired us to do a Same Day Edit and they chose “Now We Are Free”, also known as ‘The Gladiator Song’ in our circle of videographers. We have used it many times, but clients just love this music and it has great peaks and valleys…perfect for a Same Day Edit!

We worked with Michael Good who is a great photographer and lots of fun to work with. We are really lucky that we have so many laid back yet talented wedding photographers to work with in the Seattle area! And I definitely recommend Michael’s work!

I’m not going to say a lot more about it and just let you enjoy their video instead! Just click on the link below!

Pacific Aviation Museum

January 15th, 2007 by edit1media

December 7, 2006

Words cannot describe today. We are in Honolulu for the 65th anniversary of the attack on Pearl Harbor and the Grand Opening of the Pacific Aviation Museum.

We were commissioned to create a total of 5 videos for the museum. One is about two survivors telling their story of December 7th and their return to Ford Island. This plays in a full 200-seat theater every 20 minutes 7 days a week. It’s a very powerful movie and people leave in stunned silence. The first time it was shown today both gentlemen, Herb and Ernie, were there. They had no idea the movie was going to be a permanent part of the museum and they were in tears when we told them. They also got a standing ovation at the end of the first play when they were introduced. These are two amazing American heroes and I’m so proud to call them my friends now too. Herb told me that this movie touched him deeper than any of the hundreds of other movies, videos, books, or photos that he has seen about Pearl Harbor over the last 65 years. Talk about a compliment!!!

The other thing we did was create ‘kiosk videos’ that play on large plasma screens in 4 of the exhibits. One is about the “Battle of Niihau” which most people know nothing about and is a fascinating story! Another is about a small airplane whose pilot and his son found themselves in a swarm of Japanese Zeros on that fateful morning and lived to tell about it. Their airplane is also on display. Again, another story that many people don’t know about. The third video talks about the Doolittle Raid and has a mini-theater that looks like a ‘ready-room’ to host it in. The fourth video is about Guadalcanal. This museum is truly cool and I’m not saying that just because our videos are there (well, maybe! LOL!!).

The Grand Opening ceremony was really cool. There were about 2,000 people there, most of which had to come over to Ford Island via a trolley since it is still a military base. Chuck Yeager (aviation God), Wally Schirra (astronaut), Tom Brokaw, 5 Medal of Honor Recipients, and many more honored guests were there. But the most important guests were the Pearl Harbor survivors who made the trip from all different parts of the country. I got chills when they were all asked to stand and were given a standing ovation. After a bunch of speeches the museum was blessed by a Hawaiian Kahuna and officially opened. People raved about our videos which was a really cool experience!

Happy Birthday!!

January 15th, 2007 by edit1media

November 16, 2006

Matthew is 12 years old today. Amazing.

11 years and 2 days ago we were first told that our baby had cancer. Then when he relapsed a year later it was discovered that he actually had two forms of cancer and his odds of surviving were extremely low. It was very rough treatment in which he almost died 5 times just from the chemo, but here we are…8 years after his last chemotherapy celebrating his 12 birthday. He is truly a miracle and so many doors were open for just a brief moment that led to the treatment which ultimately saved his life.

Even more amazing is that he seems to be just like any other 12 year old, although a bit more mature. He has some hearing loss from the chemo and strong antibiotics he was on, but other than that (and a bunch of scars), you’d never know he was sick a day in his life. We really have many great doctors, researchers, nurses, other hospital support staff, God, and of course the children who didn’t make it before us, to thank for his life. Life has something really incredible in store for him and we are so blessed to be celebrating today instead of mourning. That fact never escapes me and make us truly humble.
