Yesterday, Chris and Laura took a break from our crazy hot studio to enjoy some air-conditioning at lunch with Holly Strand of Beautiful Endings Photography. Holly has such a great personality and truly loves what she does. Her photos are great; super fun and creative. We’re looking forward to a long and successful relationship with Holly! Yesterday, we had an awesome coffee meeting with Heather and Juliana from Marrylicious. They are super fun and so enthusiastic about what they do. Love that! Their company puts together gorgeous gift boxes for anyone in the wedding. From the bride to the out-of-town guests, they have everyone covered. It’s EASY because you (the bride!) don’t have to run around town gathering all the contents and putting it together at the day before your wedding! Their boxes are so yummy and they use several local Seattle companies like Belle Epicurean, Beecher’s Handmade Cheese. (My personal fave!), and Sweet Miniatures Cookies. Marrylicious has several boxes you can choose from or they can customize one specifically for you. The bridal boxes all include an emergency kit with stain removers, dental products, tissues and even a sewing kit. They also include premium bottled water, sparkling water, juice and sparkling wine. AND they are conscience of possible spills, so all the drinks are light colors. Genius!

It’s obvious that Heather and Juliana have put a lot of thought into what they do. They started out as friends in college and after putting together a little snack box/emergency kit for a friend’s wedding, they decided that a company must be made! They live in the same neighborhood in Seattle and work out of their homes. With FIVE kids (!) between them, they are busy ladies! They definitely take pride in what they do and put a lot of love into each box.

Over a year ago, fabulous wedding planner Michelle Engvall introduced Diane to us and we hit it off right away! Picture the Long Island girl and the Hawaii girl having a blast talking about everything under the sun! Diane even helped us at the Seattle Wedding Show earlier this year…she’s such a great lady that I actually begged her to be our Studio Manager at one point, but alas, she wanted to keep her ‘real’ job. LOL!! Anyway, Chris and I have been really excited to meet Fred and do their Same Day Edit, especially when we found out their two dogs would be involved! How cute!

So today started off at the fabulous Fairmont Olympic Hotel in Seattle where Diane and Fred both got dressed and then saw each other for the first time. We were working alongside Joe & Jill Photography which is always a treat since they like to bounce creative ideas around with us. Things moved over to Herban Feast in SoDo Park for the ceremony and reception where Steven Moore Designs totally outdid himself on the decor and made such a large, open space feel warm and cozy. The ceremony was officiated by Annemarie Juhilan who we’ve known for many years now…it’s always so great to see her because she has to be one of THE most positive people you’ve ever met!

The ceremony was fairly intimate with about 100 people total. The reception was a laid back yet elegant lounge atmosphere but later on DJ Darrel Christel rocked the place with such a cool mix of music that I need to make sure to get the play list! It was a GREAT celebration! The Same Day Edit was a smash hit and had the crowd dancing and cheering. It was so much fun to watch people’s reactions! Diane and Fred were beyond happy with the video….Fred yelled out “You all need to get a copy of that!!!” Too cute!

Congrats Diane and Fred…you are such a fun couple and we were so happy to share your wedding day with you today!

This past weekend Thao and Josh tied the knot in a fabulous wedding in Seattle that was a wedding videographers dream come true….model-beautiful couple, gorgeous wedding party, amazing locations, pristine blue sky, pretty flowers, awesome wedding planner and a classy yet out-of-this-world fun day!! We had such a great time filming this wedding!

After Thao and the bridesmaids got ready at the Hotel Deca in the U District, we headed over to the Suzzallo Library at the University of Washington where Josh got to see his bride for the first time that day. Their quiet, emotional moment quickly turned to laughter as the boisterous groomsmen began to work their charm. I knew at that moment that this was going to be a FUN day!

The ceremony was held at Blessed Sacrament with a full Catholic Mass. I love the shot of Thao walking down the aisle with the outside light streaming in around her and her father (nice shot, Chris!). The reception followed shortly at the Bell Harbor Conference Center where I started working right away on their Same Day Edit. This was our first Same Day Edit shooting video on the Canon 5D Mark II and the footage was just unbelievably stunning. The depth of field, clarity, color rendition, low-light capability and how flattering the camera is to people makes me want to switch all our cameras to the 5DMK2.

It was also great to work with Ellen Peterson again from Serenity Weddings. We worked with her several years ago on some great weddings, including a vow renewal/surprise wedding for Jon & Jen Kitna. She had taken a break for a few years to have some cute kiddos, but now she is back in full force and hasn’t missed a beat! She is such a sweet lady who really knows her stuff and never seems to run out of energy! Oh, and it was her birthday too! Talk about dedication to her brides!
