Kaye & Danny’s Wedding – Holy Names & Lake Union Cafe

June 25th, 2010 by edit1media

view mobile version here

When I walked in to Kaye’s room at Hotel Deca, where she and her bridesmaids were getting ready, she greeted me with such a warm smile and enthusiastic hug that you would have thought we had been friends for a long time! I finally got to meet Dre from Lifebox Studios and we had fun shooting detail shots together and he even let me borrow a few lenses to play with. Meanwhile, Brian was off filming the guys getting ready at Holy Names…Kaye went to school at Holy Names which I think is so cool! How emotional to get married at the school where you learned and worshiped when you were younger? Here is their Same Day Edit which was shown later on in the evening at the Lake Union Cafe.

Deborah & Chip – St. Jude & Columbia Winery Wedding

June 22nd, 2010 by edit1media

view mobile version here

I feel like a blog posting maniac this week! Since the beginning of June we have already had 5 Same Day Edits so I have a few more to post after this one!

We really loved working with Deborah and Chip on their wedding day! Even though there was a little veil emergency which was quickly remedied, Deborah was calm, serene and smiling all day. She looked stunning in her Lazzaro dress which she purchased at Kleinfeld’s in New York City. They were a bit more traditional and decided not to see each other until the ceremony and Chip was fighting back a tidal wave of emotions as he watched his bride walk down the aisle towards him. I hope you enjoy their Same Day Edit as much as I enjoyed creating it! We have some amazing footage from the reception which will be added to their longer edit.

Anna & Joe – St. James Cathedral & Fairmont Olympic Hotel

January 25th, 2010 by edit1media

I have so much to say about Anna & Joe’s wedding….it was beautiful, elegant, full of bling, grand, stunning….what other adjectives can I come up with?? It was a long, fun day and after we showed the Same Day Edit, Anna told me “hiring you was one of the best things we did!” which is one of those phrases that just makes my year. Thanks to Heather Sharpe who referred us! Tonight was Heather’s last wedding as a planner since she is going to work on her other business…but we are grateful that she recommended us to this amazing couple!

For those who might ask about Anna’s wedding dress….it’s a one of a kind custom made just for her, so you won’t see it anywhere else.

It is always great to work alongside wedding vendors who we’ve known for years and have come to see as friends. Tania from Azzura Photography had the great idea of bringing a Venetian mask with feathers that matched the wedding for some fun photos…and as always was FABULOUS to work with!! Aria Floral did an unbelievable job creating stunning bouquets for the ladies and grand, breathtaking arrangements for the ceremony and reception with tons of yellow, cream and white flowers with feathers! The Michael Benson Band and The Wedding DJs were there to entertain the guests (and I must say they did a lot of entertaining ME while I was editing and they came in to take a break!). And of course the Fairmont Olympic Hotel and St. James Cathedral are a combination that is hard to beat.

I hope you enjoy their Same Day Edit and please feel free to leave comments! Oh…and keep an eye out for the Super 8mm film which will be coming later after it is back from processing.

Traditional Italian Catholic Wedding at St. James Cathedral

October 4th, 2009 by edit1media

Last weekend we had the pleasure of filming Natalie & Jeremiah’s wedding. Natalie got dressed with her mom, sister & grandmother’s help in a beautiful suite at the Fairmont Olympic Hotel. Natalie’s beautiful wedding gown was accented with some FUN blue shoes…I was in love with them the second I saw them! So cute! When she was finishing getting dressed, her Dad entered the room and saw his little girl for the first time that day as a stunning bride…it was a very emotional and touching moment without a dry eye in the room!

Jeremiah didn’t see Natalie until the wedding ceremony and I’d say he was pretty blown away by the sight of his gorgeous bride walking down the aisle at St. James Cathedral. After the Wedding Mass, the newleyweds took photos with Sean Flanigan then headed back to the Fairmont for their reception in the lush Garden Room. One of our previous couples, Juliette and Mark were there as guests and I was so excited to see they are expecting! I wish I had more time to talk with them, but it was a pretty busy night for our team!

Natalie requested Ave Maria as the music for their Same Day Edit because it has special meaning for them and both of their families. I think it fit the romantic, spiritual feeling of the day.

Jackie and Tyler — Elegant Wedding in Tacoma

September 28th, 2009 by edit1media

We met Jackie and her mom at the Seattle Wedding Show last January and they fell in love with our work right away. In fact they weathered (pun intended) a three hour drive in a horrible storm to come meet us and book Jackie’s wedding video with us! Now THAT is dedication! Jackie was super excited to have a Same Day Edit and well….she was just super excited all day on her wedding day! I had so much fun working with her! I hope you enjoy her video!

A Very Seattle-esque Wedding at St. James & Salty’s

August 31st, 2009 by edit1media

On Saturday morning I woke up to the sound of rain and thought “Oh no…not today!!”. I knew that Jemima and Winston had set aside lots of time to take photos outside with Winnie Forbes and I could hardly wait to film their wedding and get some beautiful shots for their Same Day Edit. Thankfully by noon the skies cleared up and it turned out to be a beautiful late summer day…just in time for a sweet First Glance by the fountain at the Bellevue Club Hotel.

We LOVE to shoot at St. James…lucky for our clients the coordinators there love us too because we are able to create beautiful videos for our couples while still respecting their guidelines. It’s such a beautiful cathedral and Father Ryan is so warm and welcoming. Some of his words got me choked up this time, especially when I glanced over at Chris and though how lucky I am to be able to work alongside my husband and capture these amazing moments for our clients.

After the ceremony I jumped into the van (a.k.a. the edit-mobile) and started editing while Chris and Garrett filmed the newlyweds at Kerry Park and Parson’s Garden. By that time we were hungry and thirsty. There was a kid with a lemonade stand near Kerry Park who was awfully happy when Chris went over and ordered three lemonades, three bottles of water, and three Twizzlers. That totally hit the spot!

With the photo session complete, we all headed to Salty’s on Alki for the reception. What else can you say about the view of Seattle at Salty’s other than “WOW!”. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve been there, but I still just LOVE the view. And it’s so cool to be there long enough to see the light change from daylight to sunset then into night when all the lights come on. It’s simply stunning and the guests really enjoy snapping tons of pictures of the skyline. As if the skyline and scrumptious food wasn’t enough, the guests also got to enjoy a photo booth, the Same Day Edit and a First Dance with some special “Rock the Reception” style dancing! I was OUTSIDE in the edit-mobile making DVD copies and could hear the hooting and hollering! It was great!

As we got ready to leave I made sure to find Winston and Jemima to say goodnight. Winston said “We knew the Same Day Edit was going to be amazing, but that just totally blew us out of the water! Thank you sooo much for such an amazing video!” and as I walked back to the car I over heard another guest telling Chris how cool it was to see everything they missed that day and how much Winston & Jemima would treasure the video in the future. It’s so neat to me to think that as much as they love their video now, it will only appreciate in value and importance in their family history. How cool is that?

Thao & Josh–

July 14th, 2009 by edit1media

This past weekend Thao and Josh tied the knot in a fabulous wedding in Seattle that was a wedding videographers dream come true….model-beautiful couple, gorgeous wedding party, amazing locations, pristine blue sky, pretty flowers, awesome wedding planner and a classy yet out-of-this-world fun day!! We had such a great time filming this wedding!

After Thao and the bridesmaids got ready at the Hotel Deca in the U District, we headed over to the Suzzallo Library at the University of Washington where Josh got to see his bride for the first time that day. Their quiet, emotional moment quickly turned to laughter as the boisterous groomsmen began to work their charm. I knew at that moment that this was going to be a FUN day!

The ceremony was held at Blessed Sacrament with a full Catholic Mass. I love the shot of Thao walking down the aisle with the outside light streaming in around her and her father (nice shot, Chris!). The reception followed shortly at the Bell Harbor Conference Center where I started working right away on their Same Day Edit. This was our first Same Day Edit shooting video on the Canon 5D Mark II and the footage was just unbelievably stunning. The depth of field, clarity, color rendition, low-light capability and how flattering the camera is to people makes me want to switch all our cameras to the 5DMK2.

It was also great to work with Ellen Peterson again from Serenity Weddings. We worked with her several years ago on some great weddings, including a vow renewal/surprise wedding for Jon & Jen Kitna. She had taken a break for a few years to have some cute kiddos, but now she is back in full force and hasn’t missed a beat! She is such a sweet lady who really knows her stuff and never seems to run out of energy! Oh, and it was her birthday too! Talk about dedication to her brides!

I hope you enjoy Thao & Josh’s Same Day Edit and if you are a bride looking for an excellent wedding videographer in the Seattle area or Honolulu, please give us a call or send us an email! We would love to create an amazing video for you too!

“Wonderfulment”

January 2nd, 2009 by edit1media

This was such a fun edit combining classical romance with modern fun!

We met Vangie and Chris at the Seattle Wedding Show last year. Since this year’s show is this coming TOMORROW, I thought it would be appropriate to post their Same Day Edit video! It’s hard to believe that a year has already flown by since we first met them!  And this year Vangie will be helping us in the booth, so be sure to stop by and say hi and feel free to ask her any questions about what it was like working with us.

Vangie & Chris are a super sweet couple with a deep Catholic faith. And they obviously know the meaning of cool! Not only did they get married in one of the coolest chapels in the country, but after they firmly tied the knot, they took off for the reception at the swanky Herban Feast SoDo Park in a bright yellow Corvette! Then they topped it off by surprising their guests with a gorgeous Same Day Edit. Here is what Chris had to say:

I kept telling Vangie how perfect.. .absolutely perfect the video was. “Wait.. was this at our reception?” kept popping up in my head! It brought back a lot of great memories of that day and even things that we couldn’t (or didn’t have time to) notice! Thank you again for capturing and highlighting the happiness and wonderfulment (new word I just invented) of our wedding day!

Vangie was kind enough to share some advice on things she thinks are important for other brides to do during the planning stages which we shared with everyone in our e-newsletter! If you’d like to subscribe to our e-newsletter, please email us or click here to sign up.

And just in case you forgot, make sure you come visit us at the Seattle Wedding Show  this weekend! We have two booths…number 29 on the SkyBridge and number 240 in the main show area. See you there!!

Classic Elegance

January 2nd, 2009 by edit1media

There are days in Seattle during late September to mid-October when the light has a different quality. It’s almost an orange-rose color and the sunlight seems to play off people in a new way. I’m not sure how else to describe it, but that light was definitely present on Lisa & Tyler’s wedding day and I love how the footage came out. This is a great example of our Extended Same Day Edit.

Lisa and her bridesmaids got ready at the prestigious Broadmoor Golf Club, which is also where the reception would take place later on. Tiara from Tiara’s On Location was pampering Lisa and the girls (you’ll even see a brief glimpse of Tiara in the mirror!) Her dress was a Lea-Ann Belter design from the Bridal Garden. The moment Lisa put on her wedding gown, the emotions began to flow. That moment was quickly followed by her father seeing her for the first time, and then Tyler seeing her as his bride for the first time that day.

After that it was time to take some pictures with Ben Becker and his adorable wife, Lin. There was a game going on at Husky Stadium and we could hear the roars of the crowd…it was pretty cool but it was hard to keep all the groomsmen focused on getting their pictures taken since they wanted to keep going back in to the bar to watch the game! LOL! However the ladies from Solomon Events kept things running along smoothly anyway!

The ceremony took place at the amazing and historic Holy Names Academy and was also emotional with bits of humor thrown in as well. The reception was full of life and laughter with great toasts and some great footwork during the Father-Daughter dance! The Michael Benson Band rocked the night away as people filled the dance floor!

At the end of a long, but satisfying evening, Chris and I went out and found the one place that was still open at midnight and had sushi with Ben and Lin. It was a great way to end the night! Congrats Lisa & Tyler…thank you for letting us capture your day for you!
