Kaye & Danny’s Wedding – Holy Names & Lake Union Cafe

June 25th, 2010 by edit1media

view mobile version here

When I walked in to Kaye’s room at Hotel Deca, where she and her bridesmaids were getting ready, she greeted me with such a warm smile and enthusiastic hug that you would have thought we had been friends for a long time! I finally got to meet Dre from Lifebox Studios and we had fun shooting detail shots together and he even let me borrow a few lenses to play with. Meanwhile, Brian was off filming the guys getting ready at Holy Names…Kaye went to school at Holy Names which I think is so cool! How emotional to get married at the school where you learned and worshiped when you were younger? Here is their Same Day Edit which was shown later on in the evening at the Lake Union Cafe.

Venues: Hotel Deca, Holy Names Academy, Lake Union Cafe
Wedding Coordinator: Happily Ever After
Wedding Photographer: Lifebox Studios
Florist: Miki’s Flowers
Disc Jockey: Bamboo Beats
Officiants: Father Dugan and Father Tolang

A Very Seattle-esque Wedding at St. James & Salty’s

August 31st, 2009 by edit1media

On Saturday morning I woke up to the sound of rain and thought “Oh no…not today!!”. I knew that Jemima and Winston had set aside lots of time to take photos outside with Winnie Forbes and I could hardly wait to film their wedding and get some beautiful shots for their Same Day Edit. Thankfully by noon the skies cleared up and it turned out to be a beautiful late summer day…just in time for a sweet First Glance by the fountain at the Bellevue Club Hotel.

We LOVE to shoot at St. James…lucky for our clients the coordinators there love us too because we are able to create beautiful videos for our couples while still respecting their guidelines. It’s such a beautiful cathedral and Father Ryan is so warm and welcoming. Some of his words got me choked up this time, especially when I glanced over at Chris and though how lucky I am to be able to work alongside my husband and capture these amazing moments for our clients.

After the ceremony I jumped into the van (a.k.a. the edit-mobile) and started editing while Chris and Garrett filmed the newlyweds at Kerry Park and Parson’s Garden. By that time we were hungry and thirsty. There was a kid with a lemonade stand near Kerry Park who was awfully happy when Chris went over and ordered three lemonades, three bottles of water, and three Twizzlers. That totally hit the spot!

With the photo session complete, we all headed to Salty’s on Alki for the reception. What else can you say about the view of Seattle at Salty’s other than “WOW!”. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve been there, but I still just LOVE the view. And it’s so cool to be there long enough to see the light change from daylight to sunset then into night when all the lights come on. It’s simply stunning and the guests really enjoy snapping tons of pictures of the skyline. As if the skyline and scrumptious food wasn’t enough, the guests also got to enjoy a photo booth, the Same Day Edit and a First Dance with some special “Rock the Reception” style dancing! I was OUTSIDE in the edit-mobile making DVD copies and could hear the hooting and hollering! It was great!

As we got ready to leave I made sure to find Winston and Jemima to say goodnight. Winston said “We knew the Same Day Edit was going to be amazing, but that just totally blew us out of the water! Thank you sooo much for such an amazing video!” and as I walked back to the car I over heard another guest telling Chris how cool it was to see everything they missed that day and how much Winston & Jemima would treasure the video in the future. It’s so neat to me to think that as much as they love their video now, it will only appreciate in value and importance in their family history. How cool is that?

Reza & Ryan – Bridal Prep

February 8th, 2009 by edit1media

Reza and Ryan are one of our biggest cheerleaders and some of our most favorite people we have ever met. First of all, they are ADORABLE together and they are just so positive, always smiling and laughing. This is definitely a couple that should be together!

Reza and her bridesmaids got dressed at the posh Westin Hotel in Bellevue, Washington. She wasn’t nervous at all and as you can see, she was a beautiful and very photogenic bride!

Marissa & Ali – Golf Club at Newcastle

November 3rd, 2008 by edit1media

Marissa & Ali were a blast to work with! Having a really good wedding video was a very high priority to them, which of course is a delight for us!

They had a unique way of combining their Filipino and Persian wedding traditions during the ceremony. Usually these traditions can take quite some time, but they combined the Filipino cord & veil along with the Persian shawl, sugar cones and honey all during one song. We got some gorgeous shots of the traditional Persian spread…it really is beautiful and you can tell that a lot of love and work went in to creating it.

We had the most amazing weather on the day of their wedding. There is something about the sunshine in Seattle during late October that is just stunning! Please enjoy their Same Day Edit and feel free to leave comments for Marissa & Ali!

Reza & Ryan – Sept. 15, 2007

September 15th, 2007 by edit1media

Chris and I have been looking forward to this wedding for a loooong time! In February we did the wedding of Reza’s cousin Tonie (you can see their Same Day Edit here) and Reza says the family is STILL talking about it! So naturally Reza & Ryan were looking forward to their Same Day Edit…actually they said it would be the highlight of the day! No pressure on me there! LOL!!

The ceremony was at St. Ignatius Chapel which has such interesting architecture that people come from all around the world to look at it. The reception was then held at Sahalee Country Club. You have GOT to check out their dance moves in this video!! When the Same Day Edit finished I got the biggest hug from Ryan…probably the biggest hug from a groom yet! And Reza held my arm up in the air like a prize fighter…it was pretty cute and I’d say it was definitely a smash hit!

Tonie & Rey…I’m so sorry I didn’t get a chance to really talk to you since I was so focused on the Same Day Edit! But you both looked awesome and very happy! We’ll talk soon!

Reza & Ryan…thank you again for asking us to be a part of your day. I hope we’ll be capturing even more of your family events in the near future!

Cool Wedding with Tons of Traditions!

August 22nd, 2007 by edit1media

Wow…Sunday’s wedding at Newcastle was amazing! With elements from Jewish, Chinese, Japanese and Hawaiian cultures, it could have gotten pretty crazy, but Elizabeth (the beautiful bride!) and her wedding coordinator Wendy Wojcik were able to pull it all together cohesively. There were some really great, spontaneous moments in the day and I’m sure now that it’s over they are even more happy that they decided to have it filmed!

This wedding was shot in High Definition and we created an Extended Same Day Edit where elements of the reception are included. The first half was shown right after Toasts and then the entire video with the reception shots was shown just before the Liz & Aaron departed. Both viewings had standing ovations and after the second viewing, people were shouting “We want MORE!!” We had tons of fun with this wedding and even brought home a Hawaiian print yamika as a souvenir! :)

The Extended Same Day Edit is becoming one of our service options as a stand alone product. It will be a perfect solution for brides who want a more scaled back video than our usual package offerings. If you are interested in a quote for your wedding, please email us at info@edit1media.com!

Be sure to watch this all the way through so you can see the Lion Dance!

Juliette & Mark – St. James Cathedral & Fairmont Olympic Hotel

January 18th, 2007 by edit1media

January 18, 2007

On September 23, 2006 we shot a gorgeous wedding at St. James Cathedral with the reception in the Spanish Ballroom at the Fairmont Olympic Hotel. This couple is from Manhattan in New York City so they hired Wendy who put together a sophisticated and elegant affair. We worked with GH Kim Photography, a husband and wife team who are very quiet but sweet and easy to get along with. I also love their work on their website and they have generously shared photos of this wedding for their DVD covers!

OK, enough talk, here is their video! Just click to start playing.
