Super 8mm Wedding Film – West Palm Beach, Florida

June 10th, 2009 by edit1media

I just got back some Super 8mm movie film and was so excited to see what we got on it! The fun and mysterious thing about shooting on motion picture film is that you really have no idea how it will turn out until you get it back from development. But the rewards can be huge! It is such a completely different feel than our usual High Definition wedding videos….it’s shaky and grainy but the colors are gorgeous and there is just a nostalgic, vintage — comfortable — feel to it.

This particular wedding was in West Palm Beach, Florida and since we were heading out that way, Chris and I decided to take a short 4-day cruise to the Bahamas prior to Dalia & Mitchell’s wedding. Motion picture film is not supposed to go through xray machines and I had no problem at SeaTac having a hand check. It was actually quite entertaining to chat with the TSA guy about how he grew up shooting Super8 and he was curious what we were doing with it. But when we got to the cruise ship, it was a whole different ball game! The guy there forced us to xray the film even though there were “DO NOT XRAY” stickers all over it! Then on the way home it got xrayed again at the airport in Miami! I was really stressed that the film would be ruined. So I wound up waiting a long time while until I finished shooting some rolls at a few other weddings before sending it in for processing.

Unfortunately, some of the film was damaged from the xray exposure (and probably some user error too!) but I had enough to put together a cute littler opener for Dalia & Mitchell. I love it because it shows just enough of a glimpse in to their day that you want to see more…and yet it doesn’t ruin the surprise of the rest of their video. Yes, that’s me getting all artsy on you! Anyway, I hope you enjoy this and if you like it enough to add in a little bit of  Super8 to your wedding video, send me an email!

A Story Told by Loved Ones – Mica & Matt

April 14th, 2009 by edit1media

When we walked into the W Hotel to film Mica & Matt’s wedding, you could instantly feel how much their friends and family loved them. This video is such great evidence of that and I love how it all flows together. Mica was such a chic bride and when Matt looks at her you can just feel how much he loves and adores her. They have such great synergy. I hope you enjoy this video as much as we enjoyed shooting and editing it!

A French Inspried Wedding

July 17th, 2008 by edit1media

Veronique and Nate met at a Tango class and hit it off right away. And today they danced their first Tango as husband and wife!

Veronique and her girls got ready at the amazing Inn At The Market, which her father owns. She wore a gown that she bought in Paris which was further customized so she could dance comfortably (and it showed off her cute shoes too!). We had a great time working alongside Joe & Jill Photography walking through the Pike Place Market and Post Alley. It was just a gorgeous Seattle day today!

The ceremony at Broadmoor Golf Club was attended by guests who flew in from all around the world! And the fabulous Married and More with Michelle made sure all the details were perfect! Tango lessons and custom drinks were the finishing touch…oh, but I almost forgot the best part! That would be the Same Day Edit, of course!

Wedding Weekend in Florida

March 8th, 2008 by edit1media

Chris and I are in Fort Lauderdale this weekend to shoot Dalia & Mitchell’s wedding tomorrow in West Palm Beach. The weather has been amazing and yes, it’s Spring Break too! So the beaches are crowded with college kids but we haven’t seen too much crazy stuff yet! Dalia booked an incredible room for us overlooking the beach. So cool!

Today we filmed Dalia & Mitchell’s blessing from the Rabbi and tomorrow is the big day! We are working with Craig Larsen Jr who is a photographer also from Washington. It’s great for Dalia & Mitchell to be able to meet with us back home in Washington both before and after the wedding and have us here for the events.

Since June marks our 15th wedding anniversary, Chris and I decided to add on a few days to this trip and take a short cruise to the Bahamas. I’ve never been on a cruise nor to the Caribbean before so I was really excited! Now the day after the cruise is over I have to say I was NOT disappointed! We snorkeled, jet-skiied, and did something really cool called snuba and got pretty sunburned! A videographer who previously purchased our training DVD picked us up in Nassau and we went to his studio to check out his work and give him some tips. Now he is hoping to come to Seattle for some one-on-one training which will be fun! While on the island he gave us a personal tour and turned us on to conch fritters and Kalik beer! Yum! Thanks, Rodger!

I’ll post some photos when we get back home since I can’t figure out how to do that from my phone! In the meantime, I hope everyone joins me in wishing Dalia & Mitchell well in thier new marriage! Mazeltov!!

Cool Wedding with Tons of Traditions!

August 22nd, 2007 by edit1media

Wow…Sunday’s wedding at Newcastle was amazing! With elements from Jewish, Chinese, Japanese and Hawaiian cultures, it could have gotten pretty crazy, but Elizabeth (the beautiful bride!) and her wedding coordinator Wendy Wojcik were able to pull it all together cohesively. There were some really great, spontaneous moments in the day and I’m sure now that it’s over they are even more happy that they decided to have it filmed!

This wedding was shot in High Definition and we created an Extended Same Day Edit where elements of the reception are included. The first half was shown right after Toasts and then the entire video with the reception shots was shown just before the Liz & Aaron departed. Both viewings had standing ovations and after the second viewing, people were shouting “We want MORE!!” We had tons of fun with this wedding and even brought home a Hawaiian print yamika as a souvenir! :)

The Extended Same Day Edit is becoming one of our service options as a stand alone product. It will be a perfect solution for brides who want a more scaled back video than our usual package offerings. If you are interested in a quote for your wedding, please email us at info@edit1media.com!

Be sure to watch this all the way through so you can see the Lion Dance!

Lisa & David

January 27th, 2007 by edit1media

January 27, 2007

Lisa & David had a Jewish Ceremony at the Glendale Country Club in Bellevue with a really beautiful winter theme. They were both very, very nervous and Lisa kept crying whenever someone would tell her how beautiful she looked. So everyone started joking that she looked horrible and then she would crack up for a few seconds so the photographer, Stephanie Cristalli could get some good shots. They have a great sense of humor and I really enjoyed getting to meet them and work with them.

We went to Lisa & David’s house just a few days before their wedding to get a little bit of voice over for their Same Day Edit and it really added extra emotion to their video. The guests were eating dinner and talking when the video started playing and within the first 5 seconds of the video the room became suddenly dead quiet. Then slowly people started whispering, “How did they do that? It’s so beautiful!” Those comments make the stress of the Same Day Edit SOOOOO worth it! But the crowning moment was when Lisa and David said it was the most beautiful thing they had ever seen. Here is thier video.

Shari & Jonathan

January 20th, 2007 by edit1media

Here is a highlight we did for Shari & Jonathan. We still haven’t finished their full video yet, but we created this highlight for them because they were going to South Africa to visit family. Since her grandmother wasn’t able to make it to the wedding, we were more than happy to put this together for them. Needless to say, grandma (and the rest of the family there) loved it and watched it many times!

Shari & Jonathan are the sweetest couple! They brought us wine and pumpkin bread when they came over to our house and they both helped us an ENTIRE DAY at the Seattle Wedding Show! Just really, really neat people and their wedding was spectacular! Enjoy!
